In case of a leak, TEG is usually collectible and recoverable, and its fire hazard is lower compared to many solvents.
In terms of storage, triethylene glycol must be kept in sealed containers, away from heat sources and oxidizing materials. This substance is hygroscopic and absorbs moisture upon contact with air; therefore, standard packaging plays an important role in maintaining its quality.
